ASTORIA BREWING TAPROOM REOPENS

After a brief closure, Astoria Brewing’s downtown taproom has reopened on a limited schedule.

The 12th Street taproom, which wraps around the brewhouse below, was shut down in a surprise move on Sept. 5. Brewery operations and the bustling 11th Street brewpub were not affected.

The owners said at the time that the taproom was unlikely to return to life anytime soon, but in yet another surprise, beer is once again flowing.

The new hours are Thursday through Saturday, noon to 8 p.m., according to head brewer Andrew Brown.

The timing of the reopening is good, since Brown has just released two new beers: Nowhereland Vienna lager and Frenetic Sequence cold IPA.

Astoria Brewing’s Unfiltered Pilsner.

Another incentive to stop by: You can now pick from any of the brewery’s canned brews to make a custom six-pack to go.

Signature beers include Strawberry Blonde, Astoria Porter, Brew Berry, Astoria Amber, Unfiltered Pilsner, Thai-style Lager and Astoria IPA.
