When Astoria Beer Zone launched in May 2023 – coincidentally, the same day as Fort George Brewery’s Lupulin Ecstasy festival – we were resolute about keeping the website non-monetized.

We figured nobody wants to scroll past ads or get hit with annoying pop-ups while reading about craft beer and the cool people who make it.

We here at ABZ are beer cheerleaders, plain and simple. We’re giving back to the brewing community we love with a range of quality content, including breaking news, fun features, Q/As and other useful info.

While the content is free to all (no subscriber-only nonsense), there are expenses, such as web-hosting fees, travel costs, festival tickets, promotional materials and the like. We have a talented web designer who is updating the site, and we’d love to be able to pay him more than a token for his efforts.

That’s why ABZ has joined the Buy Me A Coffee fundraising platform (beer, in our case), an easy way for people to donate a buck or two. You can also leave a message that we’ll actually read.

So please check it out here. Every cent we raise will be used strictly to support ABZ – and, in turn, North Coast breweries big and small.

Thanks for your help!

REACH BREAK’S BUBBLY BREAKOUT

Founder and head brewer Josh Allison says his Beachcraft seltzers will be available in 16-ounce cans this summer – in time for beach outings, barbecues and respites on the trails.

THE DARK ART OF MAKING STOUTS

For Dave Coyne, the art of brewing demands a constant pursuit of perfection.

Perhaps that’s why he enjoys this time of year, when the days grow darker and colder. That’s when he embraces stouts – preferably the barrel-aged variety.
