Public Coast sprang to life in Cannon Beach in 2016 and quickly garnered the respect of more established breweries. Winning gold medals will do that.
Walk past the outdoor patio into the spacious brewpub and see the gleaming rows of fermenting tanks across from the bar. The brewery’s name is an ode to Oregon’s “free and open” 363-mile coastline. The motto is: “Beaches forever. Beer for everyone.” No argument there.
Try some of their signature brews, including the ’67 Blonde Ale, Coastal Haze Hazy IPA and NW Honey Red Ale. Public Coast owns a 40-acre farm that produces hops, blueberries, honey and other fruit and veggies used in many of its drinks and dishes.
